His contention was that the Safavid empire remained a profoundly disturbing force in the Muslim world. Writings by the Ottoman religious leaders of that time about the Safavids were the source for that contention. Additionally, European religious leaders were considering Shah Safavid I as the opportunity of God for the Christendom.
