-3 = -x^2 + 2

Solution:

Multiplying by -1 throughout;

3 = x^2 - 2x

x^2 - 2x - 3 = 0

Using the quadratic formula;

x = (b^2 +/- [tex]\sqrt{b^2 -4ac}[/tex]) × 1/2a

x =  (2 +/- 4) × 1/2

x = 3 or -1
