one way you could consider 'simplifying' is to make all numbers whole and simplest form
I will put it into stardard form which is ax+by=c
make all numbers whole
2.1x-0.9y=15
multiply everybody by 10
21x-9y=150
divide everybody by 3
7x-3y=50
