What is the difference between factor divisor dividends and quotient

Quotient is your answer in division

Divisor is the number you are dividing by or the number on the outside.

Dividend is the number that is being divided or the inside number

Ex : 40 / 8 = 5

40 is the dividend

8 is the divisor

5 is the quotient
