Could plant roots do photosynthesis? Give reasons for your answer.

No they could not. The cells within the plant roots haven't been exposed to sunlight, so they have adapted by losing their chloroplast, the organelles needed for photosynthesis.

No, because they are not exposed to much CO2 and are not in the sunlight.
