Yes, he is correct. Since.....
(−2)^4
=(−2)*(−2)*(−2)*(−2)
=(−2)^4
=16

(-2)^4 means -2 times itself 4 times so
-2 times -2 times -2 times -2=(-2 times -2) times (-2 times -2) remember that negative time negative=positive so
